Posted On Wednesday April 07, 2021

Active cases of COVID-19 have been identified by local public health officials today at the following school:

  • Ashley Oaks Public School (two cases)

Thames Valley wishes to assure the community that all staff, parents and guardians of the school communities were immediately notified. As a result of widespread exposure to COVID-19 and the need to quarantine a large number of students and staff, Ashley Oaks Public School will transition to remote learning effective tomorrow (Thursday, April 8).

Health units investigate cases to identify close contacts and follow up directly to provide specific testing advice.

If you do not receive a letter from Thames Valley indicating the public health unit has identified your child as a close contact, your child is not considered to be at risk. Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 14 days.

Thames Valley is following all health and safety protocols recommended by both the local public health unit and the Ministry of Education, and schools remains safe places to attend.
